At the Vein Care Center we use the Cutera® Excel V and HR lasers (Nd:YAG 1064nm and Alexandrite 755nm) to perform laser hair removal. The laser emits an intense, focused beam of light that targets the melanin in the hair follicle under the skin and damages it. The Nd:YAG 1064 laser works well in most areas and on all skin types; the Alexandrite 755nm is ideal for lighter skin tones.
Electrolysis uses a small amount of electrical current that is transmitted by a fine, sterile probe (or needle) directly into the natural opening of the hair follicle, destroying the dermal papilla, the matrix and an area called “the bulge”, all of which cause hair to grow and regenerate.

Results in a greater than 50 percent reduction in hair growth is considered a “permanent” procedure. Laser Hair removal provides a permanent reduction of hair growth, which may require touch –ups due to heredity, metabolic, or hormonal conditions.
Laser Hair Removal typically requires five sessions per area to achieve optimal results (some areas may require an additional session package). The number of sessions required for Electrolysis can differ from person to person. Most clients return once a week or every other week as needed. The unwanted hair will be gone forever once the series of treatments is complete. For both Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis the treatment time lasts between 15 minutes and one hour.
